When Thomas Jefferson said, "The price of freedom is eternal vigilance." he meant vigilance over our own government, not foreign governments. We are also encouraged to take the mote from our own eye before tackling it in anyone else. It is for that reason we want to criticise our system, not that we don't believe in either democracy or freedom.

There are immense resources for travel on the internet, but although there are many sites because there is a relatively unholy alliance between some of the travel web sites and their 'advertisers' you don't always get unbiased information.
